Good Morning…

It’s not good to let any kid near a container that has a skull and crossbones on it, because there might be a skeleton costume inside and the kid could put it on and really scare you.

Here’s a helpful tip, highly recommended by my wife and I:  If you’re in the general Chicagoland area and are looking for a reliable carpenter, give K/J Kitchen and Bath a call at 847-884-1547.  They’ve done quite a bit of work at our house over the past few years, including two new bathrooms and just recently did a complete master closet renovation.  They’re easy to work with, trustworthy, and competitively priced.  No, we don’t get any kickbacks from passing along his name…since there’s a ton of people out there, it’s always helpful to have a good reference.  They were originally referred to us by a friend, so I thought it would be nice to share it with you.

WEIRD NEWS*

Charmers

In Tacoma, Wash., in September, a smirking Ulysses Hardy III, 24, pleaded guilty to three aggravated murders, laughed at the victims' families in court, and told them to "get over it" and that "(p)ain is part of life." Hardy said there are two kinds of people, "us and them, predators and prey," and that he's "damn sure not prey." "(I) did what I did. And that's not going to change." A week earlier in Norristown, Pa., Janeske Vargas, 35, was sentenced to life in prison for setting a friend on fire with vodka and nail polish remover, but said she had nothing to say in court to her friend's family. "No, why should I? ... They'll get over it."

As a reminder, my reason for sending this is to help keep communication lines open between friends while hopefully adding a bit of levity to the day.  Back issues are available in the Deep Thoughts section of my website.  Have a great week!
